Broker Buddha Selected for FinTech Innovation Lab.

We have exciting news to share—Broker Buddha has been invited to participate in FinTech Innovation Lab New York.

Only ten companies were named to the 2020 Class, and we’re thrilled to be one of them. The process was competitive, and concluded with a Demo Day presentation before an audience of key decision-makers and industry media. The final selection committee included executives from more than 40 leading firms, including The Travelers Companies, The Hartford, and Zurich Insurance.

Based in New York City, the FinTech Innovation Lab New York is backed by executive sponsors Accenture and the Partnership Fund for New York City. It brings together entrepreneurs and major institutions to collaborate and foster transformational insurtech and fintech solutions. As a program participant, we’ll be meeting regularly with C-suite executives, technology experts, and venture capitalists. While the gatherings may be more virtual than originally anticipated, the collective brainpower will help us further refine our offering and meet the always evolving needs of our customers.

Keep learning. Keep improving. Keep growing.

Fact is, we’ve always believed the biggest mistake people at a growing company can make is thinking they have all the answers. That’s why getting customer feedback has been so important for us —many of  our newest features were developed after valuable conversations with our users. Now we also have an opportunity to work with major institutions and their leadership, and this input will help us continue to improve everything we do.

How Does the Cloud Impact Data Ownership and Privacy?

The importance of data privacy is at an all-time high, and there are no excuses for getting it wrong. As the entire insurance industry embraces the cloud, independent agents must work harder to understand data privacy, as well as the difference between ownership and right-to-use client information. Anyone who understands the insurance industry knows that access to data is the key to success. But who owns the data? Who is allowed to use it? And for what purpose? When information is shared over the phone and via email, the answers to these questions are unclear. But with the rise of InsurTech, there is an opportunity for greater clarity.

The One Place Robots Won't Take Over - Ever

There is a lot of hype in the news about robots taking over jobs. From the New York Times predicting that the next generation will be run by robots to the BBC claiming that robotic automation will replace hundreds of millions of jobs within a decade or so. But don’t panic. When it comes to advising businesses on making complex insurance decisions, robots simply cannot replace humans. In fact, they will probably make life easier.
